First victory for new NIP lineup
The Ninjas in Pyjamas picked up their first win at the BLAST Premier Spring Groups, beating BIG 2-0 with their new starting lineup.
Starting at the Mirage, BIG pressed the speeder from the start. The German team, led by Johannes “tabseN” Wodartz, created a five-to-zero advantage before NIP started playing their own game of Counter-Strike. The mixed team from Sweden recovered from a bad start to end the half with a score of 8-7. Both teams played a few rounds in the second half, but NIP still took the map with a score of 16-14.
The next map was Inferno. It started off well on the CT side, with BIG taking the first pistol round and subsequent rounds. However, NIP proved to be too strong for the German squad and took the second map with a score of 16-11.
Daniel “headtr1ck” Valitov is a newcomer to the NIP squad. The only 18-year-old played well in the first two games of the season, first against NAVI and yesterday against the German team BIG. With Alexi “Aleksib” Virolainen, NIP’s top player and new AWPer, could this lead to Ninjas in Pyjamas reaching the top within a few months?
